The Heart of Prayer
WEEK 20
Prayer for Others
“What brings no benefit to the hive brings none to the bee.” — Marcus Aurelius
Human beings flourish in community. Marcus Aurelius emphasized that personal well-being is connected to the well-being of others. Service, cooperation, and concern for the common good strengthen both individuals and society.
“Pray for one another.” — James 5:16
Prayer expands the heart beyond personal concerns. Interceding for others strengthens compassion and reminds us that we are connected to a larger community. By praying for others, we participate in an act of love that reflects Christ's concern for all people.
Prayer teaches us to care for others. Compassion grows when we look beyond ourselves and seek the good of those around us.
